On the 19th, UD Impact Inc., in collaboration with SK Innovation E&S, has officially launched ‘I’m in Busan,’ a citizen-driven platform aimed at tackling local social and environmental challenges in the region. In celebration of the platform’s successful launch, the ‘Connecting Day’ event was also hosted.

The platform’s name, ‘I’m in Busan,’ plays on the phrase ‘I’m in,’ signaling a commitment to active participation. It invites citizens and stakeholders to join forces in ESG efforts and contribute to a sustainable future. Initially launched in July of last year, the initiative is designed as a collaborative model that brings together local governments, businesses, academia, and residents to co-create solutions to regional issues.
The ‘Connecting Day’ event drew strong participation from key local institutions, including Busan City Hall, Busan Technopark, and the Busan Hydrogen Ship Technology Center, all expressing high expectations for the platform’s future impact. This year’s event featured a talk concert on the themes of ‘I’m in Busan’ and ‘Energy,’ with ten current and former participating companies in attendance — many of which focus on hydrogen and AI/DT-based energy efficiency technologies. Each enterprise shared creative solutions rooted in their existing business models, addressing energy issues from their unique perspectives. These contributions reflected the platform’s mission to foster actionable, problem-solving innovation.
Moving forward, ‘I’m in Busan’ will continue to center its efforts on the theme of ‘energy,’ a topic selected directly by the citizens.
Planned activities include an online communication hub, citizen-led engagement events, policy-focused seminars, and joint programs connecting local government, universities, and research institutions. These initiatives aim to elevate public awareness of energy-related challenges and identify concrete, collaborative solutions. A key objective is to deepen collaboration with the City of Busan, its regional universities, and stakeholders across sectors, ensuring that discussions translate into tangible actions with measurable impact.
Participating companies are encouraged to pursue business models aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while the organizers provide comprehensive support across various dimensions. UD Impact Inc. and SK Innovation E&S will continue to co-lead the platform’s operations, helping drive inclusive, regional growth.
A UD Impact representative stated, “Through ‘I’m in Busan,’ we hope to foster meaningful collaboration between local communities and businesses to create real value through regional ecosystem alliances. We encourage ongoing support and active participation from Busan citizens.”
UD Impact, formerly known as ‘Underdogs Inc.,’ is a rebranded impact-driven education and ESG solutions company. Over the past decade, the organization has trained more than 18,000 entrepreneurs and is now expanding its role as a leading force in execution-based ESG innovation.
